Yoga nidra  is the ultimate relaxation. It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, in which the body is completely relaxed, and you become systematically and increasingly aware of your inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. It is easy.  It is usually practiced lying down in what is called savasana (corpse pose) but can also be done while sitting in a chair.

This is not physical exercise. It combines the best of stress management, relaxation training, meditation and guided imagery.  Anyone at any age can do Yoga Nidra.

To Participate:

Register at judith@judithperlman.com.

Wear comfortable clothes.  Bring a yoga mat if you have one and any props that you need to lie on the ground comfortably; a thin pillow for under the head, a blanket if you tend to get cold.  The yoga studio has some mats, blankets and bolsters, but not enough for all.
